Plug Nomad into a USB port
Your browser will show a list of serial devices. Pick Nomad and click Connect. A board still running its factory program connects as-is — nothing to hold down.
If it will not connect, use boot mode
Only needed on a board that has already been flashed once. Leave Nomad plugged in and powered, then:
- Press and hold the left button.
- Press and release the right button.
- Release the left button.
Then click Connect again. On the Mk4 case both buttons stay exposed.
Write the firmware
Writes the selected build to the board — bootloader, partition table and app in one image (…). Takes about a minute. Do not unplug during this step.
Format the card
…
A web page has no access to drives or partitions, so this is the one step that has to happen in a terminal. Pick your system and run the command with the card plugged in.
Choose the SD card
Pick the root of the card — the drive itself, not a folder inside it. Your browser will ask permission to save changes.
Pick what to copy
The stock content from a prebuilt Nomad — public-domain films, cartoons, music and books. Everything here is cleared for redistribution.
Choose your existing card
Pick the root of the card you are already using.
Update the interface
Overwrites the interface files with the current versions from GitHub.
